So I made this lunch last week, and observed to some friends that it was the prettiest throw-together lunch I’d made in some time. Pics were demanded … only by then, I had devoured it.
The lunch is pretty simple. Sticky rice. Tamagoyaki (I use Maki’s recipe, but I put milk instead of water in mine). Mushrooms sauteed in butter with white pepper and a spash of soy sauce to caramelize. Sliced peeled cucumbers with pickled radish and sesame oil. Black sesame seeds and a little green onion. That’s it. Quick, easy, tasty, healthy.
Of course, I overcrowded my plate and the light today is terrible. {: I’m a lousy food photographer. Trust me, it’s prettier in person. And so good. <3
